"When I first enrolled in University I was headed toward a career in psychological counselling. After completing a diploma and degree in this field I became interested in physical healthcare and immediately enrolled in Massage Therapy. I thoroughly enjoy my profession as a Massage Therapist and have always taken a special interest in working with pregnant women. In the past I questioned whether my social work and psychology education had any relevency to my career, but I have recently come to realize that life does come full circle, as it is of tremendous value in my work as a Doula. I believe that these earlier life choices along with my own personal experiences as a mother have all played a role in guiding me toward supporting young families. It is my hope that through my work I enable mothers and fathers to have birth experiences that are truly satisfying and empowering. As well, I endevour to help ease the physical and emotional transition into parenthood." |
